Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 3, 2026
TradeUp is operated by JackMorgan.xyz LLC. This policy describes information handled by the TradeUp website, Tez messaging experience, and TradeUp workspace in ChatGPT. Contact us at contact@jackmorgan.xyz with privacy questions or requests.
Information we handle
Account and connection information. We store account identifiers, your phone number and verification status, and an email address if you add email sign-in. Email sign-in uses a password hash rather than a readable password. We also store browser sessions and OAuth connection records, including permissions, tokens, and expiration information, to authenticate your account and connections.
Information you choose to provide. Your profile may include your first name, graduation year, ZIP code, birth month, trade interests, goals, experience, certifications, tools, availability, transportation, and work preferences. A résumé can contain additional information you enter. You can edit these details in TradeUp.
Conversation and practice records. We store messages you send Tez, Tez replies, selected answers, practice questions, feedback, challenge responses, and recorded progress. Tez uses recent conversation and relevant account information to continue helping you. Please do not put passwords, verification codes, government identifiers, payment-card details, or medical information into conversations or practice responses. Account sign-in and phone verification happen through their separate authentication flows.
Jobs and application activity. We store saved jobs, job context you ask Tez to use, application drafts, answers, explicit consent records, employer requests, introductions, and recorded interview or hiring status. Employers' use of TradeUp can create company, role, shortlist, note, and hiring records.
Operational information. Our application and hosting services handle request and message identifiers, timestamps, routing and delivery status, security and error records, and network information such as IP addresses. We use these records to operate the service, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and recover interrupted work.
How we use information
We use this information to sign you in, connect the same account across Messages, the website, and ChatGPT, provide Tez's AI assistance, record practice progress, show and save jobs, support applications and introductions you authorize, deliver the messages you choose to receive, and provide support. Practice results guide exploration and preparation; they are not a certification of practical job-site competence.
The application uses cookies for browser authentication. Browser storage also keeps temporary phone-verification progress and workspace state so you can resume a flow. These mechanisms support account access and resuming the service.
Service providers and other recipients
We use hosted infrastructure and database services, including Vercel and Neon, to run TradeUp and store its records. Tez sends relevant messages and account context to the configured AI model service through Vercel AI Gateway; the current default model is provided by OpenAI. Sendblue handles phone verification and phone messaging. A configured email-delivery service may handle password-recovery emails. If routing optimization is enabled, the configured routing provider may process message text to choose a response path. These recipients process information needed for their part of the service. This policy does not promise a particular provider's retention or training practices; their own terms and privacy policies also apply to their services.
When you use TradeUp in ChatGPT, OpenAI operates the host experience. TradeUp's model-facing tools return public job results and a limited connected-account identifier and display label, which may include your first name and the last four phone digits. The workspace receives private conversation, practice, and saved-job data to display in the app. Those records are kept out of the tool's model-facing structured results. You can explicitly preview and share a progress summary with the host conversation. Information you deliberately share in that conversation is then handled as part of your ChatGPT use.
Connecting ChatGPT does not enable proactive check-ins or share a profile with an employer. Replies to messages sent from ChatGPT stay in the TradeUp workspace; they do not trigger phone reply delivery. Phone-originated messages continue through the messaging service.
Employer-sharing features currently require you to be at least 16 and provide the required age and profile details. If you enable employer visibility, eligible employers can see the anonymous talent card you preview. That card includes selected trade, availability, broad area, and practice information, but omits your name, phone number, exact ZIP, birth month, and free-text answers. If you accept an introduction or submit an application after its preview, that employer receives the details disclosed in the consent flow. These can include your name, phone number, full ZIP, résumé, and selected profile and assessment evidence. Accepted employer profiles may reflect later profile updates. Employers may retain information they have already received, so turning off visibility cannot recall their independent copies.
Employers may pay TradeUp in connection with contacting or hiring a candidate. Payment does not let an employer bypass candidate approval: your identifying contact and profile details are shared only after you accept the relevant introduction or submit an application through the disclosed consent flow. The anonymous preview and the details disclosed after approval are described above.
We may provide information when required by applicable law or necessary to respond to a valid legal request.
Retention and your choices
TradeUp currently has no fixed automatic deletion schedule for durable account, conversation, profile, practice, saved-job, application, and introduction records. These records remain stored until removed through an available account action or an approved support process. Authentication sessions and tokens have expiration periods; expiration does not itself delete your account or its durable records. Disconnecting ChatGPT does not delete your TradeUp account.
You can edit your profile, remove saved jobs, change outreach preferences, and turn employer visibility off. You can withdraw supported applications or introductions through TradeUp. You can disconnect the connection in ChatGPT. Text STOP to stop phone replies; account and communication controls do not automatically erase historical records.
To request access, correction, deletion, or revocation of a connection, email contact@jackmorgan.xyz. We may need to confirm account ownership before acting. We will assess and handle requests in accordance with applicable requirements, including any records we must retain. We have not yet adopted a fixed deletion deadline or a verified backup-erasure schedule and do not promise one here.
Young users, security, and changes
You must be at least 15 to use TradeUp. Do not use the service if you are under 15. If you believe someone under 15 has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and address it. Employer-sharing features require at least age 16; using TradeUp at 15 does not remove that safeguard. Users who are minors should involve a parent or guardian where required for their use of the service or a work opportunity.
TradeUp uses account authentication, access controls, and HTTPS connections. No online service can guarantee perfect security. Keep your sign-in information private and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the updated version and its effective date at the TradeUp privacy-policy URL. Contact: JackMorgan.xyz LLC, contact@jackmorgan.xyz.
