Apprentice Residential Carpenter

*Job Summary* Groskopf Construction is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Project Expediter & Materials Handler to join our dynamic and growing team. In this vital role, you will coordinate the timely movement of materials, oversee shipping and receiving operations, and ensure that project timelines are met efficiently. Your proactive approach and strong organizational skills will help streamline warehouse and job-site workflows, support construction projects, and maintain seamless inventory management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale projects while working with heavy equipment and hands on field work. Opportunities grow into working on framing or finish carpentry teams are available *Duties* * Assist project managers with day to day tasks to keep jobsites on schedule * Expedite project materials by coordinating with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and availability of supplies * Manage shipping and receiving processes, including verifying shipments against purchase orders and delivery documentation * Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, bobcat, work trucks and trailers * Load and unload trucks efficiently while adhering to OSHA safety standards for heavy lifting and equipment operation * Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment by properly storing materials on pallets or racks * Collaborate with supervisor, project manager and carpenters to optimize workflow processes, improve safety protocols, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations * Support construction-related activities by handling materials, cleaning, demolition and light carpentry work needed for ongoing projects *Requirements* * Valid drivers license * Ability to drive work vehicles and know how to tow trailers * Be onetime and prompt * A good work ethic and task management skills * Basic construction knowledge * Experience working in construction or industrial environments is highly desirable * Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during order picking or material handling tasks * Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting * Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members, vendors, and project managers * Physical ability to lift and handle materials *Benefits * * Competitive Pay with room to grow * Paid time off * All job sites are local and within 20 miles of Okauchee * Paid holidays * Company vehicles are available * 401(k) matching of up to 3% * Tool allowance * Lots of Company Gear * Company Outings * Work with a team who has centuries of experience and want to teach you!
