Automotive Technician Apprentice

*Automotive Technology Services (ATS)* is a locally owned, independent automotive repair shop in San Rafael, CA. We are looking for an *Automotive Technician Apprentice* with *1–3 years of professional automotive experience* to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who has a solid foundation in automotive repair and is ready to continue developing their skills, knowledge, and diagnostic abilities. The right candidate is motivated to learn, takes pride in their work, and wants to build a long-term career in the automotive industry. You will work alongside experienced technicians and have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a wide variety of vehicles and repairs. *Responsibilities* * Perform basic to intermediate automotive maintenance and repairs * Assist experienced technicians with more complex repairs and diagnostics * Perform oil services, brake work, fluid services, filters, batteries, belts, and other maintenance and repair services * Assist with vehicle inspections and diagnostic procedures * Learn and develop diagnostic and troubleshooting skills * Follow proper repair procedures and safety practices * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area * Properly use and care for tools and shop equipment * Communicate effectively with technicians and service advisors * Complete work accurately and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality *Qualifications* * *1–3 years of professional automotive repair experience* * Basic understanding of automotive systems and repair procedures * Automotive Technology degree, trade school, or equivalent hands-on experience is preferred * Strong desire to learn and develop as a technician * Mechanical aptitude and good problem-solving skills * Professional set of basic hand tools * Valid driver's license and clean driving record * Reliable, punctual, and dependable * Positive attitude and strong work ethic * Ability to work independently while also being a team player * Good communication skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment *What We Offer* * *Competitive pay based on experience* * *Benefits* * *Bonus opportunities* * Hands-on training and mentorship from experienced technicians * Opportunity to develop advanced diagnostic and repair skills * Opportunities for advancement and increased responsibility * Supportive, team-oriented work environment * Long-term career growth with a growing independent shop * Opportunity to grow with ATS as we expand *Build Your Career With ATS* This is more than an entry-level position.
