Carpenter Apprentice, Construction Apprentice

*Job Summary* As a Carpenter Apprentice/Construction apprentice, you’ll support a skilled carpenter on residential construction, remodeling, and restoration projects while building practical trade skills. You’ll help prepare materials, move materials and complete work safely under direction. This is a paid apprenticeship role; applicants should be ready to learn, follow site procedures, carry heavy lumber(50lbs +/-) and perform hands-on work outside in the Texas Heat. You will need to have dependable transportation to all our projects on a daily basis, Most of our projects are located within a 15 mile radius of Leander Texas(Home base). *Duties* * Assist with framing, trim, and residential carpentry, including erecting walls ceilings & roofs, building decks, cabinets, window hanging, door hanging, siding, flooring, and much more. * Measure, cut, assemble, and install wood construction materials; use hand tools, woodworking power tools, and woodworking machines as directed. * Help with a variety of construction tasks including, concrete, material preparation, site cleanup, and safe handling of tools and materials. * You're expected to learn these skills quickly : Proficient measuring and marking materials, safely use a skill saw, and quality installation making the end product to the highest quality standard possible. *Skills* * Essential: Willingness to learn carpentry and woodworking, follow instructions, and practice power tool safety. * Ability to lift and move materials in excess of 50 lbs, work on an active construction site in the Texas heat, and complete hands-on tasks with care. * Preferred: Construction or construction site experience, including residential carpentry, remodeling, restoration, or handyman work. * Familiarity with trim or frame carpentry, Residential construction, concrete, interpreting technical drawings, construction estimating, assembly, and woodworking tools or machines is an asset.
