Diesel Engine Field Technician (Apprentice)

*Job Summary* We are seeking a rising, motivated Marine Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have some background in maintenance and mechanical knowledge, particularly with marine diesel engines. This role involves servicing, repairing and maintaining a variety of diesel-powered engines to ensure that they operate efficiently and safely. The majority of this work will be conducted outside of the shop. *Responsibilities* * Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, generators, marine drives and transmissions (along with all related systems). * Conduct vendor-specified diagnostics procedures to identify issues and determine necessary repairs. * Utilize power tools and equipment to perform mechanical tasks effectively. * Adhere to industry-standard marina access and behavior requirements. * Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations while working. * Document all maintenance and repair work performed on engines; provide customers detailed follow-up repair lists for their engines. * Collaborate with team members to improve service efficiency and quality. *Requirements* * Proven experience in engine maintenance, specifically with marine diesel engines. * Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various systems. * Familiarity with engine & generator lines such as Volvo-Penta (IPS), Cummins, ONAN, John Deere, Northern Lights, Kubota, Caterpillar, Westerbeke, FPT, Nanni, and/or Yanmar is preferred * Experience using power tools safely and effectively. * Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * A valid driver's license is required.
