We are seeking a motivated Electrical Apprentice to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with previous electrical experience who wants to continue developing technical skills, gain hands-on experience, and build a long-term career in the electrical trade. JMS Electrical serves the MetroWest and Greater Boston areas. This position requires travel to various residential and commercial job sites throughout the region. Employees typically report directly to assigned job sites or meet with the team as needed. *Benefits* Benefits available to eligible employees include: * 401(k) * 401(k) employer match * Paid time off * Parental leave * Bereavement leave *Schedule* * Monday–Friday * 7:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. * Overtime may be required. *Responsibilities* * As an Electrical Apprentice, you will assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems in residential and commercial settings under appropriate supervision. * Assist electricians with diagnosing electrical problems and troubleshooting electrical systems. * Assist with installing, repairing, and replacing outlets, GFCI devices, breakers, switches, lighting, panels, grounding systems, and wiring. * Assist with replacing wiring and installing smoke detectors and other electrical components. * Help locate and mark positions for conduit, wiring, connections, passage holes, and fixtures. * Prepare work areas, tools, equipment, and materials for daily jobs. * Keep service vehicles clean, organized, and properly stocked. * Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and follow company safety procedures. * Monitor inventory and communicate when supplies or equipment are needed. * Submit daily documentation, receipts, and descriptions of work performed. * Participate in team meetings, vehicle inspections, inventory checks, and company-sponsored training. * Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and other contractors. * Follow applicable electrical codes, company procedures, and safety standards. * Perform other related duties as assigned. *Qualifications Required* * Three years of electrical experience * Previous experience assisting with electrical installations, repairs, or troubleshooting * Working knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safe work practices * Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under the direction of a licensed electrician * Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills * Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as required for the position * Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in a variety of environments * Strong communication skills and a professional attitude * Ability to work independently when appropriate and as part of a team * Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development *Preferred Qualifications* * Experience with residential and commercial electrical work * Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) * Experience with electrical service calls and troubleshooting * Electrical trade school education or completion of relevant apprenticeship coursework * Experience maintaining tools, equipment, inventory, and service vehicles *Professionalism* The ideal candidate will: * Demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic. * Be dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious. * Take pride in producing quality work. * Work effectively both independently and as part of a team. * Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards. * Maintain professional relationships with customers, coworkers, and contractors. * Respect company privacy and confidentiality policies. *Why Join JMS Electrical?* * Variety of residential and commercial projects * Established company proudly serving the MetroWest and Greater Boston areas since 2009 * Professional, supportive team environment * Opportunity to expand your skills and advance your career *Apply Today!* If you're an experienced electrical apprentice looking for a full-time opportunity with a professional team, we'd love to hear from you.
