Entry Level Welder/Saw Operator

*Job Overview* As an Entry Level Welder/Saw Operator, you’ll help turn metal materials and technical drawings into accurately cut, fabricated components. You’ll operate saws and support welding and mechanical fabrication work in a manufacturing or fabrication shop. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone ready to build practical skills while contributing to safe, quality production. *Responsibilities* * Measure and cut sheet metal and other materials using saws and measuring instruments; check dimensions with calipers and a micrometer. * Assist with welding and metal fabrication using processes such as gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding, as assigned. * Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings; apply basic math and shop math to support accurate fabrication. * Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment; assist with plasma cutting, press brake operation, pipe threading, soldering, machining, ductwork, and rigging as needed. * Follow safety protocols and applicable American Welding Society (AWS) standards when handling materials and equipment. Your impact: Accurate cuts and careful fabrication help production teams build components that meet specifications and support dependable finished products. *Skills* * Basic math, mechanical knowledge, and ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings. * Familiarity with welding, MIG welding, stick welding, sheet metal fabrication, and metal materials; willingness to learn additional processes. * Ability to use measuring instruments, hand tools, and power tools safely. * Construction site or fabrication shop experience is helpful, but not required. * Exposure to cranes, forklifts, rigging, or manufacturing equipment is a plus.
