Equipment Mechanic/Helper

*Job Summary* As an Equipment Mechanic/Helper, you’ll support the inspection, maintenance, and repair of construction machinery and other heavy equipment. You’ll work with mechanics to diagnose issues, service equipment, and return machines to safe, reliable operation. Your impact: Careful maintenance and timely repairs help operators and customers depend on equipment for their work. *Duties* * Assist with equipment maintenance, equipment repair, and construction equipment servicing for excavators, cranes, Caterpillar equipment, farm machinery, and industrial equipment. * Use hand tools and power tools to support assembly, fabrication, welding, soldering, and tire service. * Help inspect and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension, air brakes, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), and electrical systems. * Support electrical and automotive diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting, alignment, brake repair, and vehicle maintenance, including tractor-trailers. * Read schematics and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) service information; operate heavy equipment and forklifts as assigned. *Skills* * Mechanical knowledge and mechanic, diesel mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic experience are helpful; dealership or service technician experience is a plus. * Familiarity with diesel engine diagnostics and repair, automotive repair and diagnostics, and construction machinery maintenance is preferred. * Bring electrical experience and knowledge of electrical diagnostics, hydraulics, transmissions, suspension, brakes, and equipment maintenance. * Able to use tools safely and perform heavy lifting as needed. * Customer service skills and a willingness to learn while assisting experienced mechanics.
