About this job
*Job Description:*
Zeronet USA is a fast-growing energy efficiency company making a meaningful impact across the DMV region. Headquartered in the greater Baltimore area, we deliver high-performance solutions for commercial and multifamily properties. Our work includes commercial lighting retrofits, advanced lighting system upgrades, building envelope improvements, EV charging station installations, tenant fit-outs, and full-scope electrical work — and we're growing into HVAC services. Combining hands-on field expertise with innovative energy solutions, we help our clients reduce operating costs and improve overall building performance.
We're seeking a motivated HVAC Apprentice — currently in at least their 2nd year of an accredited HVAC program with some hands-on field experience — to support installation, service, and repair work on commercial and multifamily HVAC systems. This role is ideal for someone who's already building real skills in the trade and is looking to grow further with a company that's scaling quickly and investing in its people.
You'll work closely with our HVAC Division Leader, journeymen, and field teams, gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of commercial HVAC systems while playing a key role in supporting the buildout of our HVAC division.
*What You'll Do*
* Assist with installation, service, maintenance, and troubleshooting on commercial and multifamily HVAC systems under the supervision of a journeyman or lead technician
* Work on RTUs, split systems, heat pumps, furnaces, boilers, PTACs, and mini-splits
* Support HVAC retrofit and energy-efficiency projects across commercial and multifamily properties
* Assist with startup, commissioning, testing, and warranty work
* Work alongside journeymen, project managers, electricians, and leadership on integrated electrical/HVAC scopes
* Read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals with growing independence
* Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate professionally with internal teams and on-site contacts
* Follow safe work practices and uphold company quality standards
* Meet the physical demands of the role (lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, work on rooftops, in attics/crawl spaces, in hot/cold environments, working at heights)
* Typical schedule is four 10-hour shifts per week, though this isn't guaranteed and may shift based on project needs
* Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation as the HVAC division grows (not currently required, but expected in the future)
* Occasional weekends and travel across MD/DC/DE/VA as needed
*What We're Looking For*
* Currently enrolled in an accredited HVAC apprenticeship or trade program, minimum 2nd year completed (or equivalent verified hours)
* Some hands-on HVAC field experience required — through prior employment, clinicals, or supervised fieldwork
* EPA Section 608 certification (or actively working toward it)
* Demonstrated progress toward journeyman-level skills and a track record of reliability on the job
* Eagerness to keep learning and take on more complex tasks with less supervision
* Ability to take direction, ask questions, and grow in a structured field environment
* Solid mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment
* Strong reliability and professionalism on the job site
* Valid driver's license
* Own basic tools for HVAC work
*What We Offer*
* Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience and training level ($18–$26/hour)
* Performance bonuses tied to division performance
* Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
* Retirement plan with company match
* Paid vacation, sick days, and holidays
* Company trade tools, training, and continuing education — including support toward EPA certification and licensing milestones
* Clear pathway for advancement to Journeyman as you gain hours, certifications, and experience
* Headquartered in the greater Baltimore area, with projects primarily in the Baltimore–Washington corridor and selected work across MD, DC, DE, and VA
* Owner-operated company with 25+ years of executive leadership experience and a defined Mid-Atlantic growth plan
