HVAC Installer Apprentice

*HVAC Installer Apprentice* Modern Energy, a Hickory company · Worcester, MA · Full-time · In person $25.00 – $30.00 per hour Modern Energy is a five-star, Inc. 5000 heat pump, insulation, and solar installer serving Worcester County and Greater Boston, and we’re adding HVAC Installer Apprentices to our Worcester team. You’ll have some time in the trade already. Here you’ll work alongside a Lead Installer on heat pump, mini-split, and full HVAC installs, with a clear path to running installs yourself. What you get * $25–$30/hour based on experience and certifications, plus performance rewards * On-the-job training from experienced installers, plus support earning your EPA 608 certification * Medical, dental, and vision insurance * 401(k) with company contribution * Paid time off * Uniforms, tools, and safety gear provided * A clear path from Apprentice to Installer to Lead Installer What you’ll do * Assist the Lead Installer on ducted and ductless heat pump, mini-split, and full HVAC system installs * Run line sets, mount indoor and outdoor units, and support ductwork and low-voltage wiring * Stage equipment, materials, and tools for each job * Help with insulation and air sealing projects as needed * Keep job sites clean and treat every customer’s home with respect * Keep learning, and take on more of each install as your skills grow What you bring Must-haves: * 2+ years of HVAC, mechanical, or construction trade experience * Valid driver’s license * Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in attics, basements, and crawlspaces in all weather * Reliability, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn * Authorized to work in the United States Nice to have: * EPA 608 certification * Heat pump or ductless mini-split experience * Trade or vocational school HVAC coursework Why Modern Energy We’re building the Northeast’s leading sustainable heat installation and service company, and we do it by living five values: Put Employees First, Treat Everyone with Respect, Delight Customers, Raise the Bar, and Get Things Done.
