Mechanic Helper

*Job Summary* As a Mechanic Helper, you’ll support technicians with maintenance, inspection, and repair of vehicles and equipment. You’ll use hand and power tools, follow schematics, and help keep work areas organized and safe. Your impact: By assisting with accurate, timely repairs, you help technicians return dependable vehicles and equipment to the people who rely on them. *Responsibilities* * Assist with vehicle maintenance, equipment maintenance, assembly, and mechanical systems repair. * Support diagnostics and repairs involving diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, shocks and struts, alignment, hydraulics, air brakes, HVAC, and automotive electrical systems. * Help service heavy equipment, heavy trucks, farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractors and trailers, and automotive systems. * Use hand tools and power tools; assist with fabrication, welding, soldering, tire service, and heavy lifting as needed. * Follow safety procedures and support equipment operation, including forklifts, excavators, and cranes, as assigned. *Qualifications* * Mechanical knowledge and the ability to use tools safely; mechanic, service technician, electrical, or dealership experience is helpful. * Experience with heavy equipment mechanics, heavy truck repair, diesel mechanics, automotive repair, vehicle systems, or vehicle mechanics is preferred. * Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment, farm machinery, industrial equipment, schematics, hydraulics, or automotive diagnostics is an asset. * Customer service skills and a willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work collaboratively are valued.
