Apprentice Electrician

Eastern Electrical Corp is seeking a motivated and dependable Apprentice Electrician to join our electrical team. This position provides hands-on experience and on-the-job training while assisting experienced electricians with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems. The Apprentice Electrician will work under the direction of experienced electricians and Foremen while developing the technical knowledge, skills, and experience needed to advance in the electrical trade and work toward becoming a Journeyman Electrician. Key Responsibilities: * Assist Senior and Journeyman Electricians with electrical installations, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting. * Follow instructions and direction from Foremen and experienced electricians. * Perform assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and professionally. * Ask questions and seek guidance when unsure of proper procedures. Training & Career Development * Participate actively in on-the-job training and classroom instruction as required. * Develop knowledge and skills related to electrical construction and maintenance. * Learn to read and understand electrical drawings, plans, and specifications. * Develop familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, safety requirements, and industry best practices. * Continuously work toward developing the skills necessary to advance within the electrical trade. Safety & Compliance * Follow all company, OSHA, and job-site safety policies and procedures. * Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE). * Maintain a clean and safe work area. * Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment, or practices to a supervisor immediately. * Follow proper procedures when working with electrical systems, tools, ladders, lifts, and other equipment. Tools & Equipment * Assist with the setup, transportation, and operation of electrical tools and equipment. * Learn the proper use of hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and electrical equipment. * Maintain tools and equipment in clean and safe working condition. * Report damaged or malfunctioning tools and equipment to a supervisor. Electrical Installation & Maintenance * Assist with the installation of wiring, conduit, cable, lighting fixtures, electrical devices, and other components. * Assist with pulling wire and cable and preparing materials for installation. * Assist with basic electrical maintenance and repair tasks under supervision. * Help maintain and organize materials, tools, and equipment on the job site. * Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman or Senior Electrician. Documentation & Reporting * Accurately track work performed, materials used, and time spent on assigned tasks. * Complete required documentation and reports. * Communicate job-site issues, material needs, and other concerns to the Foreman or Senior Electrician. Customer & Team Interaction * Represent Eastern Electrical Corp in a professional manner when working at customer locations. * Communicate respectfully and professionally with customers, coworkers, supervisors, and other trades. * Direct customer questions or concerns to the appropriate Senior Electrician or Foreman. * Work cooperatively as part of an electrical construction team. Qualifications * Previous electrical experience or trade-school education is a plus, but not required for the right candidate. * Interest in building a long-term career in the electrical trade. * Willingness to learn and follow instructions. * Strong work ethic and dependable attendance. * Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team. * Good communication and organizational skills. * Ability to work in construction and industrial environments. * Ability to use basic hand tools or willingness to learn. * Ability to follow safety procedures and wear required PPE. * Valid driver's license preferred, depending on project requirements. Physical Requirements * Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various job-site conditions. * Ability to lift and carry tools, materials, and equipment as required. * Ability to work from ladders, lifts, elevated platforms, and in confined or difficult-to-access areas when required. * Ability to work indoors and outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour Work Location: In person
