About the Opportunity Paragon Construction Company is seeking a dependable Carpenter / Carpenter Apprentice to join its team in Midlothian, Virginia. The position supports residential outdoor living and remodeling projects, including custom decks, screened porches, sunrooms, and exterior improvements. This opportunity is suited for individuals with some construction or carpentry experience who want to continue developing their skills, as well as motivated candidates interested in building a long-term career in carpentry. You'll work alongside experienced carpenters and team leads, gaining practical experience in construction techniques, tool use, measurements, and jobsite safety. Responsibilities Assist with building and installing custom decks, porches, sunrooms, and outdoor living spaces. Use hand tools and power tools safely and appropriately. Measure, cut, and install construction materials accurately. Support experienced carpenters and team leads on active residential job sites. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas. Follow construction plans, instructions, and established safety procedures. Learn and apply carpentry techniques and construction best practices. Help ensure projects meet quality standards and established schedules. Qualifications At least 1 year of construction, carpentry, framing, general labor, or related experience preferred. Basic familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and construction site safety. Ability to read a tape measure, transfer measurements accurately, and cut materials accordingly. Willingness to learn new skills and develop into a skilled carpenter. Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively with a team. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Candidates with a strong foundation in construction and a willingness to develop their carpentry skills are encouraged to apply.
