Carpenter (Experienced and Entry-level positions)

*KB Builders is currently hiring for two positions:* * *Entry Level Carpenter:* An entry-level developing position assisting with carpentry, framing, roofing, and other construction activities. Ideal candidates will want to grow and develop their skills, taking on additional levels of responsibility as their knowledge grows with KB Builders. * *Experienced Carpenter:* A skilled position for individuals with hands-on construction experience who can work independently on framing, roofing, carpentry, and related projects. *Those* *interested* *in* *applying* *as a subcontractor/1099 are welcome to apply, employment status dependent on insurance requirements.\** Pay ranges from $20–37/hour based on experience and qualifications. Expected ranges are $20–25 for the Entry Level Carpenter and $30–37 for the Experienced Carpenter. Compensation will be based on the position, experience and qualifications. *Job Summary* You’ll support building, remodeling, and restoration projects from site preparation through finishing work. You’ll work with others and independently to install materials, use tools safely, and follow construction plans and technical drawings. Work may take place indoors or outdoors across varied job sites in diverse weather conditions. Your impact: Careful, safe and efficient work helps deliver reliable projects giving customers functional, well-finished spaces. *Duties* * Prepare work areas, move materials, and operate hand and power tools, and provide other general laboring support as assigned. * Assist with heavy equipment when qualified and authorized. * Support building construction, hardscaping, and remodeling. * Assist with carpentry, frame and trim carpentry, door hanging, window, glass, cabinet, and building material installation. * Perform or assist with drywall, roofing, flooring, tile laying, caulking, and construction painting. * Follow safety protocols; read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans. *Requirements (Experienced Carpenter role will* *require demonstrated independent experience)* * Construction experience or construction site experience; outdoor work experience is useful for projects exposed to changing conditions. * Knowledge of standard construction nomenclature and construction math. * Ability to interpret technical drawings and apply blueprint-reading skills. * Practical ability with hand and power tools and safe work practices. Relevant experience may include, concrete, road construction, carpentry, finish installation, or other general construction * Ability to follow direction, work collaboratively or independently if assigned. * Ability to handle the physical demands of labor on active job sites, and work long hours as assigned. * *Ability to commute to and between job sites within 50 miles of Farmington, Maine.* * *Ability to work in all weather conditions.* \*Ability to work as subcontractor dependent on individual liability Insurance, and any other state requirements. Interested candidates need not have liability coverage to apply but would need coverage before engaging in subcontractor work.
