Carpenter's Helper

Position Overview A.M. Construction, Inc. is a growing and well-established construction company serving Aroostook County and surrounding areas. We specialize in a wide variety of residential, commercial, and municipal construction projects and take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship while maintaining a professional, team-oriented work environment. We are currently seeking *Carpenter's Helpers* to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, eager to learn, and maintains a positive attitude. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their construction skills, gain hands-on experience, and build a long-term career in the construction industry. *Previous construction experience is preferred but not required.* We are willing to train motivated individuals who demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities & Qualifications Rough Carpentry * Assist with wall layout, framing, and general structural carpentry. * Help install wall and roof sheathing. * Assist with wood truss erection and installation. * Support experienced carpenters with staircase framing and other carpentry tasks. * Learn proper framing techniques, construction methods, and safe work practices. Exterior Construction * Assist with the installation of windows and exterior doors. * Help with metal bending, flashing, and exterior trim installations. * Assist with the installation of vinyl, composite, metal, and wood siding. * Support exterior finishing and general construction activities. Interior Construction * Assist with drywall hanging and installation. * Help install interior doors, frames, and hardware. * Support interior trim and finish carpentry work. * Perform general interior construction tasks under the guidance of experienced carpenters. Equipment & Jobsite Responsibilities * Assist with material handling, loading, unloading, and jobsite organization. * Safely use basic hand tools and power tools. * Help set up and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas. * Assist with equipment operations as directed and when properly trained and authorized. * Maintain clean, organized, and safe working conditions. * Follow instructions from foremen, supervisors, and experienced carpenters. Additional Requirements * Valid driver's license required. * Willingness to travel to various project locations throughout Aroostook County. * Previous construction or carpentry experience preferred but not required. * Basic familiarity with construction tools and materials is beneficial. * Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions. * Ability to perform physically demanding tasks associated with construction work. * Dependable, punctual, and committed to producing quality work. * Ability to work effectively with others and contribute to a productive team environment. * *A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-oriented mindset are essential.* Join Our Team At *A.M.
