Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Apprentice

*Overview* As a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Apprentice, you’ll work alongside experienced technicians to install, maintain, and repair heating, cooling, and refrigeration equipment. You’ll build practical skills on job sites and in service settings while following safety procedures and supporting reliable building operations. This is a paid apprentice position. *Responsibilities* * Assist with HVAC system installation, maintenance, and repair, including air conditioning, boilers, and HVAC/R equipment. * Use hand tools and an ohmmeter to support electrical diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting, and mechanical systems repair. * Read schematics and help inspect electrical systems, plumbing, and building automation systems. * Support refrigeration work, including ammonia refrigeration, under appropriate supervision. * Communicate professionally with customers and help keep work areas, tools, and equipment organized. * Your impact: Careful maintenance and troubleshooting help customers maintain comfortable, dependable building environments. *Skills* * Required: Interest in HVAC work, mechanical knowledge, safe use of hand tools, and willingness to learn through supervised fieldwork. * Preferred: Construction or service technician experience; HVAC design familiarity; experience with HVAC system repair, equipment repair, welding, or maintenance. * Additional helpful knowledge: Refrigeration, electrical diagnostics, schematics, plumbing, boilers, building automation systems, and HVAC/R. * EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) credentials or familiarity with applicable requirements is helpful; credentials are not stated as a prerequisite.
