Hvac helper

*Job Summary* As an HVAC Helper, you’ll support technicians with installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) equipment. You’ll use hand tools, follow schematics, and help troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems while building practical field experience. This is a paid position. Your impact: By helping keep HVAC systems operating safely and reliably, you support comfortable, functional spaces for customers and building occupants. *Responsibilities* * Assist with HVAC system installation, maintenance, and repair, including air conditioning, refrigeration, and boiler equipment. * Help diagnose equipment issues using schematics, an ohmmeter, and other appropriate tools under technician direction. * Support plumbing, electrical systems, mechanical systems repair, and building automation systems work as assigned. * Prepare tools and equipment, follow job-site safety procedures, and keep work areas organized. * Communicate professionally with customers and team members during field service visits. *Qualifications* * Mechanical knowledge and comfort using hand tools; construction experience is helpful. * Interest or experience in HVAC, HVAC design, equipment troubleshooting, equipment repair, or HVAC system repair. * Service technician, field service, or maintenance experience is preferred, but not required. * Familiarity with electrical diagnostics, mechanical systems repair, and HVAC system maintenance is an asset. * EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) certification is preferred where applicable; willingness to learn and follow relevant requirements is important.
