MANUFACTURING ASSISTANT/Entry-Level CNC Operator

About this job
Q2 Machining is looking for an *entry-level Manufacturing & Operations Assistant* to join our team. We’re a small precision manufacturing company, which means this isn’t a job where you’ll spend years doing one repetitive task. You’ll start by supporting day-to-day shop operations and production, then have the opportunity to take on more responsibility as you demonstrate reliability and capability.
*What you’ll be doing:*
* Support day-to-day CNC machining and production operations
* Load/unload machines and assist with basic production tasks as trained
* Perform routine machine cleaning and preventative maintenance
* Keep machines, tooling, work areas, and the shop clean and organized
* Assist with material handling, receiving, and inventory
* Help organize tooling, raw material, work-in-process, and finished parts
* Assist with inspection, part handling, and production documentation
* Package and prepare finished products for shipment
* Verify quantities, part numbers, serial numbers, labels, and shipping documentation
* Assist with shipping and fulfillment for Q2 and affiliated business operations
* Take on additional manufacturing and operational responsibilities as you develop
*Who we’re looking for:*
Experience is helpful, but *we care more about reliability, attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn. *
You should be someone who:
* Is highly detail-oriented and notices when something isn't right
* Shows up on time and can be counted on
* Enjoys working with your hands and around machinery
* Can follow procedures carefully without cutting corners
* Keeps things clean and organized without constantly being told
* Is comfortable learning new equipment and processes
* Can work independently once properly trained
* Is willing to start with basic tasks and earn additional responsibility
* Wants to develop useful skills and build a career in manufacturing or operations
Machine-shop, manufacturing, automotive, mechanical, warehouse, or similar hands-on experience is a plus, but *not required for the right candidate. *Because Q2 operates in regulated industries and this position may handle controlled products and sensitive business operations, employment is contingent upon applicable background screening and the candidate's ability to meet all legal requirements of the position
*This position has room to grow. *A strong employee could develop along several paths:
*Manufacturing:*
Shop Assistant → CNC Machine Operator → Setup / Manufacturing Technician → Shop Operations
*Operations:*
Shipping / Inventory → Production & Inventory Coordination → Operations
We are intentionally looking for someone who can grow beyond the starting position. As your skills, judgment, and reliability increase, so will your responsibilities. If you’re mechanically inclined, meticulous, dependable, and interested in learning how a precision manufacturing business actually operates, we’d like to hear from you.
