Plumber Helper and Apprentice

*Plumber Helper and Apprentice* Dogwood Plumbing LLC | Pelham, AL | Full-time W-2 employee position Dogwood Plumbing is hiring a dependable, motivated helper/apprentice to assist licensed plumbers with residential service and remodel work throughout the Greater Birmingham area. We’re looking for someone who shows up ready to work, follows directions, takes care of tools, and wants to learn a skilled trade. *Pay* Starting pay is $140 per day, paid weekly, with opportunities for increases based on performance, dependability, and demonstrated skills. Full day’s pay applies when you report as scheduled, work as directed, remain available, and are released early by the company. Half days must be arranged in advance. Employee-requested partial days and personal absences are handled under the written pay policy. Actual hours are recorded, and applicable minimum-wage and overtime requirements apply. This position does not include paid time off or employer-sponsored health insurance. *The Work* Assist licensed plumbers with plumbing repairs, installations, and remodel work under their direction and supervision. Load and unload materials, prepare tools, and help keep jobs moving efficiently. Assist with digging, carrying equipment, cleanup, and other assigned tasks. Perform shop upkeep and general support tasks, including washing vans, organizing and restocking vehicles, sorting tools and materials, and cleaning work and storage areas. Follow safety procedures, protect customers’ homes, and communicate promptly when help is needed. *What We’re Looking For* Dependable attendance, a strong work ethic, and willingness to learn Ability to follow instructions, accept feedback, and work well with others Willingness to perform physical work, including lifting and carrying materials, digging, and working in crawl spaces and outdoor conditions Reliable transportation to report to work in Pelham, AL Plumbing, construction, or mechanical experience is helpful Employment is contingent on meeting company drug-testing and background-screening requirements. *Schedule* Monday–Friday, generally 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Finish times vary with workload and job completion.
