Whether you're passionate about mechanical systems or looking to build a versatile skill set, this apprenticeship provides a solid foundation for a rewarding career in construction and building services. *Duties* * Assist with installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems across commercial and residential settings * Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design plans to support project execution * Perform routine inspections of HVAC systems, refrigeration units, boilers, air conditioning units, and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal operation * Troubleshoot equipment issues using hand tools, ohmmeters, and electrical diagnostics tools to identify faults efficiently * Support service technicians with equipment repairs, system upgrades, and preventative maintenance tasks * Help maintain building automation systems (BAS) and electrical systems to improve energy efficiency and system performance * Ensure all work complies with safety standards including EPA regulations for refrigerants and electrical safety protocols *Skills* * Construction experience with exposure to mechanical systems installation or repair is highly desirable * Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, and electrical diagnostics enhances your effectiveness on the job * Familiarity with HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) systems and their maintenance requirements * Ability to use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers along with diagnostic tools like ohmmeters for troubleshooting * Mechanical knowledge related to system repair including boilers, air conditioning units, pumps, fans and other mechanical components * Strong customer service skills to assist clients professionally during service calls or installations * Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification required * A valid van driver’s license is advantageous for transporting tools or equipment between sites This paid apprenticeship position offers an excellent pathway into the trades industry.
